"I like to think of myself as a giant time capsule, telling tales from different times to new generations of visitors.”

The Wall of the Grosvenor Museum

The stately redbrick walls and Gothic turrets of the Grosvenor Museum were built to house the Chester Archaeological Society and the Chester Society of Natural Science, Literature and Art. First opening its doors to the public in 1886, today the museum explores Chester's rich history, and contains everything from Roman remains to beautiful artefacts reflecting the city's art and silver heritage.
