In 1911 the Earl of Chester’s Fire Brigade moved into this purpose built fire station, which accommodated three horse drawn fire engines. The fire brigade moved to a bigger building in the 1960s and now houses a fine French restaurant. But the chefs at Chez Jules are not entirely out of the fire; according to local legend, the ghost of Fireman Jack still prowls the site…
